Will Legalized Gambling 747 live casino Help Or Hurt

In a talk show on March 3, 2008, the current Prime Minister, Samak Sundaravej, responded to a question about gambling by saying that the time has come for Thailand to have its own casino.

His argument would be a hard sell. He insists that casinos will be built in tourist areas such as Pattaya, Phuket, Khon Kaen, Chiang Mai and Hat Yai and cater to tourists with small pockets.

In the same vein, Mr. Samak says he will help shut down illegal gambling dens; “When gambling is legalized, the police will no longer be involved in gambling houses”,

He is comparing apples to oranges. How does the construction of a casino that is intended for wealthy tourists give way to law for local Thas?

Mr. Samak continued, “We can regulate zoning or promote casinos that mainly serve foreign tourists, and set some limits for Thai customers.”

Also, how will this prevent illegal gambling? It seems that this will promote illegal gambling even more.

Now, if I’m Thai, I have to cross the border into Malaysia or Burma to play legally, or go to one of the many illegal places and try my luck 747 live casino. ..
